The Agricultural and Agrarian Insurance Board revealed that floods in November damaged approximately 80,000 acres of farmland.
According to the Board, crop damage assessments were completed in Polonnaruwa, Vavuniya, Mullaitivu, and Mannar, with compensation pending final reports.
Assessments in Batticaloa, Ampara, and Trincomalee will conclude soon, while evaluations in Anuradhapura, Kurunegala, and Matale are set to finish by 30 December.
The process is being conducted with support from the Department of Agrarian Development and agrarian organisations.
