Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to visit Sri Lanka in April, with discussions focusing on connectivity and economic ties. Reports indicate that the visit, still being finalised, is expected to take place soon.

The invitation for this visit was extended by Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake during his trip to India in December 2024, marking his first overseas visit after taking office in September.

Accordingly, Modi has previously visited Sri Lanka multiple times. The upcoming visit is expected to build on the strong relationship between the two nations, including areas such as digital transactions, ferry routes, and petroleum infrastructure.
