The U.S. Embassy in Colombo and Disaster Management Center (DMC) hosted a three-day workshop to enhance readiness for Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) emergencies.
Accordingly, the event was held from 3-5 December which united 40 participants from Sri Lanka, Maldives, Bangladesh, India, and the U.S. Experts collaborated on strategies for saving lives, protecting the environment, and mitigating harm during crises.
The program included a tabletop exercise simulating a regional CBRN response, emphasising the importance of regional collaboration and rapid information sharing.
