The “Clean Sri Lanka” programme has called on all devotees visiting the Sri Dalada Maligawa to avoid bringing non-biodegradable items such as polythene and to uphold cleanliness in and around the sacred site.
Issuing a statement, the President’s Media Division (PMD) emphasised the importance of responsible waste disposal using only designated areas.
As a key Government initiative, the programme aims to foster environmental and ethical responsibility, promoting a cleaner and more sustainable society.
In support of the “Siri Dalada Dekma” sacred relic exposition, special activities have been launched around the temple to enhance cleanliness and awareness.
The programme underscores proper waste management as a national priority, especially in religious and cultural sites.
