The Government has secured sufficient stocks of insulin to meet national demand for the next 4 months, Health Minister Nalinda Jayatissa confirmed today (22).
Speaking at the weekly Cabinet media briefing, the Minister urged the public not to panic, assuring that insulin supplies are adequate until September this year.
He added that the Government aims to maintain medicine stocks for at least 4 to 6 months to avoid shortages.
Jayatissa acknowledged that sporadic shortages of some medicines have occurred in recent years, largely due to supplier issues, and said discussions with international partners are ongoing to ensure future supply stability.
