Despite receiving bail by the Fort Magistrate's court a short while ago today (17), The Daily Morning learns that Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) youth member and former Weligama Mayor Rehan Jayawickreme and Samagi Vanitha Balawegaya leader Hirunika Premachandra, along with 9 others have been summoned to the police for fresh charges pressed by the Police.
Speaking to The Daily Morning, Jayawickreme stated that President Ranil Wickremesinghe should be thankful to him and Hirunika that he is President today
"Ranil Wickremesinghe should be thankful to us, he owes us. Today, he is seated on that throne as President because we kicked Gotabaya out. Now he is persecuting us via the police. We don't even know what the fresh charges are. We were told to report to the Fort police station at 9am tomorrow again, despite us receiving bail for protesting outside Gotabaya Rajapaksa's residence last year. Makes no sense. Ranil wouldn't be where he is today if not for us, now he has forgotten everything," said Jayawickreme.
