The 10th Parliament will commence its first session today (21) at 10:00 a.m., with the election of MP Ashoka Ranwala, a veteran Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) member, as Speaker.

Following the parliamentary proceedings, 27 deputy ministers are expected to be sworn in at the Presidential Secretariat in Colombo this evening.
