Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has appointed former national cricketer Chamara Silva as the Head Coach of the Sri Lanka U-19 team.
An ICC Level III Qualified Coach, Silva has extensive coaching experience in first-class cricket, having previously coached Police Sports Club, Bloomfield Cricket Club, and Panadura Sports Club.
As a player, he represented Sri Lanka in 75 ODIs, 11 Tests, and 16 T20Is, scoring 2,269 international runs, including a limited-overs century.
His tenure as U-19 head coach will run from 1 March, 2025, to 31 December, 2026, with a key focus on preparing the team for the ICC U-19 World Cup in 2026.
