The Department of Meteorology has issued a 'Red' warning for strong winds and rough seas, specifically targeting naval and multi-day fishing communities in the Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal. 

The active southwest monsoon is expected to bring very strong winds of 70-80 kmph and very rough seas in areas bounded by (10N - 20N) and (55E - 75E) in the Arabian Sea, and (12N - 17N) and (83E - 93E) in the Bay of Bengal.

Naval and fishing communities are advised to avoid these marked areas until further notice. 

Those already at sea should return to the coast or move to safer areas immediately. Continued attention to future forecasts from the Department of Meteorology is strongly recommended.
