Recent adverse weather conditions and floods in the Ampara district had damaged the main water supply system between Ampara and Karathivu, leading to a water shortage.
To address the emergency, the Army - under the direction of Army Commander Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage - deployed two water bowsers and military personnel to distribute water.
Accordingly, this initiative aims to provide drinking water to hospitals, government institutions, and the public, while the damaged system is expected to be repaired within 2 days.
