Minister of Transport, Highways, Ports and Civil Aviation Bimal Rathnayake has appointed 3 subcommittees within the Ministerial Consultative Committee to resolve problems prevailing in Sri Lanka's transport sector.

According to the Parliamentary Communications Department, the appointments took place in accordance with the decisions taken by the Ministerial Consultative Committee on 24 January.

These subcommittees are responsible for ensuring job security and professional recognition, improve productivity and legal framework, and formulating business models.
