President Anura Kumara Dissanayake outlined key economic strategies through his policy statement, which was unveiled during the inaugural Parliamentary session today (21).
He announced the 2025 Budget will be presented in February 2025, with an interim Vote on Account in December this year.
Accordingly, the President highlighted plans to expand Sri Lanka’s IT workforce and annually boost IT exports. He also set a target of 4 million tourist arrivals and $8 billion in revenue within 3 to 4 years.
Other plans outlined in the policy statement include breaking market monopolies, promoting competition, and ensuring transparency.
