Minister Wasantha Samarasinghe has been elected as the President of the Sri Lanka–Japan Parliamentary Friendship Association for the tenth Parliament.
The association’s revival meeting was held yesterday (9) at Parliament, under the patronage of Deputy Speaker Rizvie Salih and with the participation of Japanese Ambassador H.E. Akio Isomata.
MP Chithral Fernando was appointed Secretary of the Association.
Both nations reaffirmed their commitment to deepen cooperation in areas such as health, trade, education, and infrastructure, building on over 70 years of diplomatic ties.
The Association is expected to boost collaboration between legislatures and strengthen people-to-people relations.
