The Sri Lanka Leukaemia Foundation (SLLF) (UK) is to hold its 16th Anniversary Fundraising dinner dance tomorrow (15 July) at the Thistle Hotel, London Heathrow, UK.
The charity was founded in 2008 to aid Leukaemia patient care in Sri Lanka. Over the years the SLLF has donated more than £140,000 worth of medical equipment and urgently needed cancer medicines to the Apeksha Hospital (National Cancer Institute) in Maharagama, Sri Lanka. The most recent donation was an Argon Electrosurgery machine at a cost of £16,000. Some of the other more recent donations and projects include: blood transfusion pumps, vacuum bags and valves and the upgrading of the lab information system within the hospital. The SLLF also stepped in to donate urgently needed medicines to the Apeksha Hospital in 2022.
The SLLF is headed by Sirini Nizar (President) and Dr Narada Wijayatilake (Secretary and Past- President). The 2023 fund raising dance committee, headed by Past-President Nihal Perera has put together a great and vibrant fund raising event for the day.
