Sri Lanka kicked off a major tourism roadshow in Saudi Arabia this week, marking a significant relaunch of tourism promotions in the Kingdom after 6 years.
Organized by the Sri Lankan Embassy in Riyadh and the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau (SLTPB), the event gathered over 170 participants, including Destination Management Companies (DMCs), tour operators, influencers, and media representatives from both countries.
Ambassador Ameer Ajwad highlighted the roadshow’s significance, coinciding with the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations and the launch of an Arabic Snapchat account, “To Jannat Dunya,” to attract high-spending Saudi tourists.
Officials from the SLTPB and SriLankan Airlines promoted Sri Lanka’s offerings and improved connectivity, while a networking session strengthened collaboration between Sri Lankan and Saudi travel agencies.
