Wedded bliss for Kamindu and his bride

Sri Lanka’s young cricketing prodigy Kamindu Mendis turned a new chapter in his personal life, when he entered wedlock with his childhood sweetheart Nishni, at Jetwing Lighthouse at Galle, last Monday (22).

The nuptials of both Kamindu and Nishni, hailing from Galle, marked a new milestone in their lives, as they took their vows, to embark on their new journey together, amidst a gathering of close family members, relatives and friends, in a simple ceremony.

Mendis, 25, recently announced his arrival on the international stage, during the concluded Test series against Bangladesh in Bangladesh, when he broke a slew of records (including back-to-back centuries).

This was after the left-hander was banished to the dreaded cricketing wilderness, for no fault of his, having scored a half-century on debut against Australia at home, a few seasons ago, by the previous selectors.

As a promising all-rounder, the ex-Richmond College player has already showcased his burgeoning prowess, across all formats of the game, in the process emerging as a standout player, for the national team.

In recognition of his sensational contributions, Kamindu Mendis was also recently honoured by the ICC, with the coveted title of ICC Player of the Month for March, further solidifying his standing as a budding star in world cricket.

We at The Daily Morning Sports wish the new couple many years of joyous and blissful wedded life together.
