Nayana Wasalathilaka will be sworn in as a Member of Parliament today (12) for the Badulla district, filling the vacancy left by the resignation of MP Chaminda Wijesiri.
The appointment was confirmed by a gazette notice issued by the Election Commission (EC) yesterday (11).
Wasalathilaka, a member of the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) and the Haputale constituency organizer, garnered 31,307 votes in the 2020 General Election.
