Police successfully recovered 50 rounds of live ammunition used for T56 firearms, along with a sharp weapon from a residence in Athurugiriya, following a disclosure made by a suspect in police custody.

The suspect was arrested on 12 April with 12 g of crystal methamphetamine (ICE) in his possession. He was subsequently detained under a detention order.

Accordingly, the ensuing investigations led to the recovery of the live ammunition and a sharp weapon yesterday (17).
