What is so important about the first Monday of May, which brings with it so much excitement and curiosity? If you are a fashion enthusiast, you must have guessed it right; the Met Gala, an extravagant showcase of fashion where many of the experts in the fashion industry give their best for designs worn by the extraordinary invitees to the occasion, which become a sensation at the event’s red carpet.
Hosted by the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the theme of this year’s costume exhibition was ‘Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion,’ with around 250 costumes from the inhouse design collection spanning over 400 years of fashion history. The pieces included designs by Schiaparelli, Dior, Givenchy, and more.

The actress from ‘Euphoria’ dominated social media with her stunning feather-adorned haute couture outfit. The outfit was created by Maison Margiela’s Creative Director John Galliano. She wore her hair in an undone updo and embellished with a Philip Treacy veil that resembled feathers and plumes, which went well with this year’s theme.

Lana realised that following the concept would not be enough and that everyone would be engrossed in her clothing, which was created by Seán McGirr. She decided to take accessorising to a new level, employing an astonishing approach to elevate her appearance by wearing shoes with horse hoof heels.
Ariana Grande channels eternal beauty
In honour of her ‘Wicked’ character, Ariana Grande hit the Met Gala red carpet in a white gown by Loewe. Grande’s dress featured a corset-style top with mosaic-like detailing which reflected light pinks and blues beneath the lights, giving the ensemble an angelic appearance.
Mona Patel’s moving butterfly dress
The grandiose appearance of Indian entrepreneur/CEO Mona Patel at this year’s Met Gala red carpet went viral on the internet as Patel captured attention with her Law Roach-styled ‘mechanical butterflies’ dress. Bhatt’s exquisite look for this year’s Met Gala was truly an appreciation and celebration of craftsmanship. The iconic saree was an innovation by the skilled hands of Sabyasachi, featuring a 23-foot-long train, hand-embroidered sequins, semi-precious stones, and beads. “Creating this has been quite an experience… fun and stressful in equal parts. As I wear this outfit, I feel incredibly grateful to embody this exquisite creation, a testament to boundless love and painstaking effort,” the actress said.
