SLFP General Secretary and State Minister Dayasiri Jayasekara stated that he personally does not agree with the government’s decision to develop the West Container Terminal (WCT) with foreign involvement.
He stated that the Container terminals are a national asset and using them to build foreign relationships would result in loss of investment for the country.
However, he rejected the reports that said the government has decided to get foreign investors involved in the WCT in exchange for a better stance at the UNHRC.
