Do you know the salary of Indian cricketers? Who is the highest-paid Indian cricket player?

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) recently announced the Indian cricketers’ salaries for the 2021 season. India’s Sportingfree revealed the details:

* The Indian national cricketers are divided into four classes A+, A, B, and C respectively. The grading system is for the players to promote or demote on the basis of their performance in the last season.

* The grading list is centrally controlled and observed under the BCCI.

* The Grade A+ players like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Jasprit Bumrah earn Indian Rs. 7 crore per year as retainer fees plus match fees (SL Rs. 191.6 million per year / SL Rs. 15.9 million or 159 lakhs per month).

* In contrast, a highest category Sri Lankan player such as either Dhananjaya de Silva or Niroshan Dickwella gets SL Rs. 19.8 million per year or 16 lakhs per a month.

* If any Indo player, who is not on the list of contracted players, plays a minimum of three matches (Test, ODI, or T20I), he will be promoted to the upper Grade respectively.

* In both countries, a player’s salary is determined by his Grade.

* In India, a Grade A+ player gets Ind. Rs. 7 crore (SL Rs. 191 m), Grade A = Ind. Rs. 5 crore (SL Rs. 136 m), Grade B = Ind. Rs. 3 crore (SL Rs. 82 m), and Grade C = Ind. Rs. 1 crore (SL Rs. 27 m).

* In Sri Lanka, there is no Grade A+ and Grades A, B, and C each has three sub categories.

* For instance, the Grade A players annual salary in Sri Lanka ranges from Rs. 19.8 million to Rs. 11.9 million.

* According to new annual contracts in India for 2021, a Grade-A women’s players such as Mithali Raj, Harmanpreet Kaur, Smriti Mandhana, and Poonam Yadav each get Ind. Rs 50 lakhs, or SL Rs. 13.6 million per year (which means SL Rs. 11 lakhs per month)
