The annual Kelaniya Duruthu Perahera at the Kelaniya Raja Maha Vihara Colombo commenced on the 7th of this month. The 'Duruthu Maha Perahera' is a grand pageant held annually for centuries in Sri Lanka and attracts Buddhist followers from across the island due to its religious significance.
