The government must bring in the CIABOC (Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption) law as that law makes CIABOC independant and in 28 years of CIABOC a prominent politician or official has been convicted, says Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) MP Eran Wickremeratne.
He made this statement while speaking in Parliament today (10).
"Assets and Liabilities must be publicly available so that they could be audited if there is a necessity. We need to have an independant prosecutors office and chief prosecutors office. But, in the minimum, we must have an independant anti-corruption bribery prosecutors office. That can be established immediately with the Justice Minister and Prime Minister being available in the house," said Wickremaratne.
He further mentioned that the legacy of the Prime Minister and Justice Minister depends on the right decisions taken by them and that the opposision would join in such rightful decision making.
