ExpoLanka PAT soars close to Rs. 15 b in Q121

  Expolanka Holdings PLC, in its interim report for the year which ended on 31 March 2021, has generated Profit After Tax (PAT) of Rs. 14.8 billion amidst the global pandemic. Expolanka Holdings Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Hanif Yusoof stated that during the last financial year, they strengthened their position as a “global logistics company”, with the annual revenue being Rs. 218 billion and gross profit being Rs. 38.4 billion. In the logistics sector, it delivered revenue of Rs. 74.9 billion, gross profit of Rs. 11.7 billion, and PAT of Rs. 4.5 billion. Yusoof said that the company’s focus was on sales, and thus, Expolanka could provide the existing and the new customers an efficient service. Also, the sales and procurement teams were held responsible for providing devoted contribution from all origins. The airfreight segment appeared to be the “largest contributor of profitability for the sector”, and the ocean freight segment also achieved progress throughout the year, said Yusoof. When it comes to the leisure sector, the company recognised innovative and experiential travel solutions due to the reduced travel restrictions and the opening of the airports which has supported in safeguarding the brand ultimately, mentioned Yusoof. The investment sector has generated a revenue of Rs. 462 million for the quarter majorly, from export operations, while the technology servicing arm had continuous and strong progress, said Yusoof while thanking the shareholders for their confidence during uncertain times.
