Former member of Parliament from the Galle district and former journalist at Lake House Publications Buddhika Kurukularatne has passed away at 77 years of age.
A lawyer by profession, he served from 1989 to 1994 as a Member of Parliament representing the United National Party (UNP).
In 1965 Kurukularatne served as a grade 1 journalist among the editorial staff of the Sun (English Daily). In 1966, he served as editorial staff for The Observer. Following this, Kurukularatne joined Virakesari and Janata (Sinhala Daily), where he was in charge of foreign news from 1966 to 1970.
Mr. Kurukularatne’s remains will lie at Jayaratne Respect Funeral Parlour, Borella on 10th June from 9 am – 3 pm. The cortege will leave the parlour at 3.30pm for the new crematorium in Borella for cremation at 4pm.
