Kotmale Holdings reports Rs. 33 m profit for 4Q20

Kotmale Holdings PLC, a subsidiary of Cargills (Ceylon) PLC, has recorded a profit of Rs. 33 million for the quarter ended on 31 December 2020, compared to Rs. 35.3 million reported for the same period previous year. For the first nine months ended on 31 December 2020, the company has recorded a profit of Rs. 107.5 million, while it recorded a profit of Rs. 117.8 million during the first nine months of 2019. Basic earnings per share of the company dropped to Rs. 1.05 during this period while it stood at Rs. 1.13 during the fourth quarter of 2019. According to its annual report, in 2019/20, the company reported a revenue growth of 13.6% year-on-year (YoY) to Rs. 2,892 million. Operating profit improved from 2019, recording a 10% YoY growth to Rs. 225 million amidst a decline in other income; profit for the year was reported at Rs. 149 million, down 4.7% against the previous year. Kotmale Holdings, formerly known as Lambretta (Ceylon) Ltd., is a company incorporated and operating in Sri Lanka since 6 January 1967, as a quoted public company listed with the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) in 1969.
