A media workshop for Tamil medium schools organised by the Department of Government Information will be held today (02) at the Jaffna District Secretariat with the participation of 250 Tamil medium school students and teachers.
Lectures will be given on current media activism in Sri Lanka and the role of the student, as well as on social media and its new trends and challenges. Simultaneously, a number of special programs organized by the Government Information Department are being implemented today.
State Secretary, State Ministry of Postal Services and Professional Development of Journalists A. Senanayake, and Director General of the Government Information Nalaka Kaluwewa will also be present. The ministers then symbolically hand over the certificates of participation to the students.
Minister of Mass Media and Information Keheliya Rambukwella and Minister of State Viyalendiran are then scheduled to inspect the Lake House in Jaffna.Media workshop for Tamil medium schools today
