• Opposition Leader questions failure to follow health regulations

[caption id="attachment_101901" align="alignleft" width="300"] Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa in Parliament, 20 October 2020[/caption] Opposition Leader MP Sajith Premadasa and Health Minister Pavithra Wanniarachchi engaged in a heated argument in Parliament yesterday (20) over the newly gazetted Covid-19 preventive regulations. The argument took place after the Opposition Leader questioned as to why the regulations, such as wearing face masks and social distancing, were not being followed during the ongoing Parliament proceedings. In response, Minister Wanniarachchi said that as per the regulations, the Parliament has not been categorised as a “public place” in which wearing face masks and practising social distancing are mandatory.
