President declares open first YOO shoes outlet at ‘Rajawasa’

[caption id="attachment_120247" align="aligncenter" width="1024"] YOO Brands MD Hemantha Perera speaking with President Gotabaya Rajapaksa at the launching ceremony[/caption]   The first outlet of Sri Lankan shoe brand YOO was declared open by President Gotabaya Rajapaksa at the Rajawasa (State Trust Centre) Shopping Complex established within the Narahenpita Economic Centre. Minister of Trade Dr. Bandula Gunawardana was also among a host of other distinguished guests who attended the opening ceremony of the brand new showroom. YOO Brands (Pvt.) Ltd. Managing Director (MD) Hemantha Perera and Chief Executive Officer (CEO)  Chamath Thanaweeraarachchi introduced the brand to President Rajapaksa during the inauguration. A wide range of world-class sport and casual shoes, manufactured by YOO Brands, an affiliated company of Sarasavi Industries (Pvt.) Ltd., was introduced to the guests. In January 2021, YOO Brands began manufacturing seamless knitted shoes in the country. The YOO Brands production line adapted a specific knitting technology that uses specialised circular looms to develop a fitting shoe that adapts to each individual’s foot. The new production method also made it possible for the company to manufacture and supply locally made premium performance shoes with a 50% lower price tag than those that are already in the market. The YOO products support premium performance and are said to be able to compete with world-renowned brands when it comes to durability. YOO shoes offer a variety of categories for both ladies, gents, and kids, such as sports, casual fashion shoes. Children’s shoes come under the Splendor brand and the premium collection of school shoes under the Sky Runner brand. YOO Brands is also assigned with Lanka Sathosa to manufacture school shoes for an affordable price to reach all audiences.
