SEC grants extension to release financials

03 Jun 2021

The Securities and Exchange Commission of Sri Lanka (SEC), having considered the inability of listed companies to release the annual reports and the financial statements in terms of the listing rules of the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE), has provided extension for listed companies to release their financial statements. Accordingly, SEC has allowed an additional period of one calendar month to listed entities who are required to submit the following financial statements on or before 31 May 2021. This applies to annual reports, together with the audited financial statements for the year ended 31 December 2020 and interim financial statements for the last quarter for entities whose financial year ended on 31 March 2021. “The above concessions have been granted in light of the current Covid-19 pandemic situation and considering the request made by the listed companies as represented by the CSE,” noted SEC.
