Sri Lanka Lawyer’s Rugby Football Club (SLLRFC) beat Sri Lanka Law College Rugby Football Club (SLLCRFC) by 57 points to 7 to lift the Kalinga Indatissa Challenge Trophy yesterday (29) at the Race Course Grounds.
Tries from Shehan De Soyza, Eric Balasooriya, Asanka Gunarathne, and Namal Rajapaksa secured the win for SLLRFC.
Patron and Founder of the tournament Kalinga Indatissa, PC said: “There is a general perception that lawyers are limited to practising in courts which is very wrong. There are so many young men and women who are joining the profession, who are talented outside the law. I’ve always encouraged them to pursue their careers in those fields apart from practising law. The SLLRFC started in 2019 when I was the President of the Bar Association of Sri Lanka (BASL) with the help of Eric Balasooriya (AAL) and Amila Palliyage (AAL) and we have come a long way.”
