Despite it being three days since the Anuradhapura prison was allegedly raided by former State Minister of Prison Management and Prisoners' Rehabilitation Lohan Ratwatte, no statement has been obtained from the political prisoners who were reported to be held at gunpoint at the hands of Ratwatte, The Morning learns. Speaking to The Morning, Superintendent of Prisons Thushara Upuldeniya stated that a probe is yet to be initiated and further mentioned that hopefully by tomorrow, the statements from the respective prisoners will be obtained. When questioned about a post circulating on social media which claims that Upuldeniya had denied the actions of Ratwatte, he replied saying, “I only said that not everything the media says is correct.”
