Mahajana Eksath Peramuna (MEP) Leader Minister Dinesh Gunawardena had noted that the challenge before the Government would be to solve the post-Covid economic problems through practical means by going beyond the textbook theories.
He had further stated that the MEP will be committed to defending the mandate given by the people.
He had made these observations addressing the MEP Seethawaka “Balamandalaya”.
Gunawardena further stated that a guarantee should be provided to the low-income groups in the country regarding the provision of essential food items, and that a letter in this regard had been submitted to the government authorities. Gunawardena added that an operation consisting of good management principles was essential to solve the problems faced by other communities.
It was also noted that the MEP expects the process of drafting a new constitution to begin in 2022, and that the MEP was committed to protecting the mandate given to the Government by the people.
