Many members of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP), who defected to the governing Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) in 2019, are now looking at reuniting with the SLFP, it is learnt.
Some former senior SLFP members, it is learnt, have re-started discussions with their former colleagues to look at the SLFP’s future political plans.
It is in this backdrop that ousted State Minister Susil Premajayantha and governing party MP Anura Priyadarshana Yapa were seen seated together with SLFP Leader Maithripala Sirisena and other party seniors Dayasiri Jayasekera, Duminda Dissanayake, and several others at a funeral in Gampaha last week.
