The ceremonial opening of the Faculty of Engineering Technology and Bio System Technology, University of Jaffna was held on 18 August 2022 at Ariviyal Nagar, Kilinochchi.
Minister of Fisheries Douglas Devananda, Secretary to the Ministry of Higher Education Thumilan Sivarajah, Blue Ocean Group of Companies Chairman Nihal Ranasingha, University Grants Commission Chairman Prof. Sampath Amaratunge, University Grants Commission Secretary Dr. Priyantha Premakumara, University Grants Commission Member Senior Prof. Vasanthy Arasaratnam, and the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Jaffna were present at the ceremony.
The building was constructed by Link Engineering (Pvt.) Ltd., the construction arm and a member of the Blue Ocean Group of Companies. It is the largest floor area building in the University of Jaffna, with modern lecture halls, an auditorium, a laboratory, etc.
It is also the ninth completed project in Link Engineering’s portfolio in the Northern region.
